Girl Face

I have finally decided to come out of hiding and share my baby girl with the world!Violet Cordelia Hopper was born at 6:02pm on Friday, May 27th. She weighed in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 20 1/2 inches long. She has blue eyes and brown hair. Brian and I think she looks like my mom, which is excellent news!We did have a c-section again this time, since she was breech and my previous c-section put me in a bit of danger for another emergency one, which we really wanted to avoid. Other than some blood pressure issues on my end, everything was wonderful and Miss Violet has been a great baby.

Jeremy has LOVED having her around. He still goes about his regular day, but talks to her, offers her toys, and holds her when he can spare time from his busy train-playing schedule. He insisted on pushing her during this entire walk even though he could not see above the stroller.I have taken to calling her "Girl Face" for no reason whatsoever. But, there you go. She does have the best face: when she is trying to wake up, she raises her eyebrows as far as they will go to help pull up her sleepy eyelids. It is super cute. She also has a precious little mouth that is constantly making little contented smiles.

At two weeks old, she weighed in at 8 pounds, 13 ounces having gained a a whole pound in a week. She is an overachiever already. She is on a 3 hour feeding schedule and takes after her brother in preferring to sleep in her carseat or on someone rather than lying flat in her bed.

So far, she is pretty amazing, if I do say so myself. My sister Cheri and my mom spent a lot of time here helping us for the first two weeks, and they are AMAZING! I am very lucky to have them take time off work to move to Knoxville for weeks at a time to put up with my crazy. Here are the photos from the birth/hospital/early days (HUGE thanks to my parents for the new camera):

  6. I am pretty sure that you have a 6 month old on your hands instead of a newborn, based on her altertness!! What a smart girl! I feel very happy that I can say she is as cute in person as she is in her pictures! I am so glad I got to meet her and you look so great. I can't believe you are a mommy of 2!
